"Quiet/
Remote - yet in thoroughly integrated with the mountains, villages and
city-states that provide historical context, this lovely home provides a
comfortable environment for a base to explore central and northern Umbria. Tinkling bells from sheep herds, occasional truffle hunters, and the whisper (truly) of the pines are the primary sounds. Local trattorias - and restaurants - are a serious liability as are the multiple vineyards; one has dinner for lunch and then dinner for dinner. But you can walk it off on the sinuous upland road that brings you to the Casa. Recommend? Mercy. Without any reservations!" M&B
"Oh, Betsy we had a fantastic time.
Your house is beautiful - both in its position on the mountain NS

"It’s been pretty much one of the
most wonderful holidays we had as a young family. The house and the area We originally planned quite a few away
trips but in the end decided to spend most of our time by the pool
"Just to say that we had an absolutely fantastic
week and don't know how you manage to stay away. Chris Durham
"Dear
Elizabeth
Hello
again...just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the last few weeks
at Casa d'Oliva. Your home in
So
what did we love....pretty much everything!
-
the views, the solitude and the magnificent sunsets -
the way in which the house is laid out, the rustic yet comfortable feel,
the way it's cool inside without air conditioning -
the quantity and quality of the furniture, including outside, is excellent and
gave us lots of places to relax -
the beds are extremely comfortable and the mosquito nets give an exotic
but practical touch -
the kitchen is very well equipped and it's really useful that remnants from
earlier visitors are kept so that we -
your eclectic and excellent stock of books kept us all occupied once we'd read
the ones we brought -
the house feels like a real home with all the pictures and trinkets -
it was good to find drawers like ours with all the useful bits and pieces
that are sometimes needed -
the board games -
the folders with info on the locality and the map were great and made it much
easier to work out what to do and -
outside the big garden, plant pots and pool are very well maintained
-
as a poor swimmer I appreciated the large shallow end, easy step access,
ledge around the deep end and non-slip bottom -
the wildlife was fascinating -
Tricia (your greeter) was very friendly and helpful .....as were the maid,
pool man and gardener Jacqui, David Jenny & Katy" July
